Day Twenty Six – Pride and Chocolate; also, Goodbyes

June 29th; I woke up early. It was hot and steamy outside, perfectly clear. I took a good twenty block walk to start the day. What a poor idea. No, no, it wasn’t that bad.

I went back to find all The Boys awake. I got them pulled together and we went looking for lunch. Southern style cooking at a diner. It was raining outside, great pounding hammers of it falling in waves. We took shelter beside the building. I did not want to walk through anymore and there was no end in sight. In we went. I had ox tails, for something different. Hendo got ribs and the others got chips or salad or something lame along those lines. The ox tails were super tender but had my pet hate in food: bones. Would that I could change anything about the world, I would remove the word vertebrae from our language. And the spine from anything that had one, except perhaps myself and a few select other people. All people are born with spine. Some have more spine than others.
